So here I sit, at the Midwest Airlines, Midwest Connect flight gate in Colorado Springs with the wife's MP3 blasting Van Halen's
Running With the Devil as I wait to board my flight to Kansas City to attend the
At Home Dads Convention.
This airport is great, about the same drive time from Castle Rock to Denver International. Parking was easy, the bus pulled up and waited patiently for me to board, no stress, as I was the only passenger and the lady actually talked to me interested in my trip. Ticket Check in was a breeze, no line. Security was more than thorough, but I didn't beep this time through and I didn't get lectured about mu laptop procedure. I was a gate 4 50 feet inside just down the ramp, the wireless free internet works so I sit here and wait and Blog.
The only stress other than the drive through the Springs huge road rebuild construction project was leaving my garage, my son said he didn't want to go and learn today and chucked his plastic medallion into realms unknown in our garage, and there it still sits. Mom got him refocused on his Halloween flashlights and got him loaded, and off they went. I first stop was the KS (King Soopers) to gas the truck and a small refi to pay for it.
Life is good and will get better when we land at MCI and I make my transportation connect, I got seat 7A. U2's
In the Name of Love is pounding in my ears, I never got to reload with my music!
Sitting there waiting for the go ahead to board to board, Steve Miller cam on my MP3 player blasting me with Jet Airliner, OK I am set to go now!
On the shuttle to the hotels after the crowd diminished a voice from the backseat asked me if I was here for a convention, and I said why yes I am, he then asked me if it was the
At Home Dads Convention and I said yes in hesitation and was wondering how this guy new about us. It turns out after talking it was Patrick from Indy, small world. He signed up at a late date and had to stay down the hill (yes, an actually steep hill in the heartland of America) and up the Street at the Homewood Suites.
Tonight is the Meet and Greet at the Boulevard Brewery, cool. But first, time for a nap!
