Blog Entry 8 of 36 Personal Transformation and the World Around You.
The culture we live and the events around us directly effect the way we think and feel about things. This blog will discuss the world around us and ways to transform our lives.

A path to peace

Since my introduction to Meditation five years ago, I have found it to a powerful tool in dealing with the roller coaster ride that life can sometimes be. Meditation and prayer are quite different. In many cases prayer is the talking aspect of spiritual work, while meditation is the listening. To listen and to silence your mind can bring powerful and clear incite into your life. It can also help you to be more receptive in making the choices that are in your best interest. As a psychic I have found it to be a very valuable tool in relaxing not only my mind, but my body as well. It also helps me to be more in tune and to cultivate my psychic abilities.

Meditation helps bring our attention more into center and less on the past and the future. It helps us to focus on the issues of the present moment and deal with problems before they become to large to deal with. It teaches us that if we keep our mind in the present moment and let go of all the negative aspects of the past, that we can live a life of greater peace. It also teaches us that when the fruit is ripe we should pluck it from the tree, and not wait for it to fall and begin to rot.

The greatest benefit of meditation however is the simple relief of stress. When a person meditates they begin by taking control of their breathing. These deep long breathes are not only cleansing, but help to relax our entire body and let go of stress. By meditating you will find that you are able to handle more difficult situations without becoming overwhelmed and that even when there is stress you will be able to let it go the moment it is gone.

Getting in touch with the subconscious mind and being receptive to yourself is another important characteristic of meditation. It helps you connect with that child like wonder of the world that you once had, and helps you to face issues that you may have buried in your subconscious that are causing problems in the present moment.

In my personal experience I have noticed a profound change in my attitude towards not only myself, but towards the world in general. I used to have quite a temper, but after five years of meditation I have learned a lot of patience. Meditation has helped me to deal with the fact that my life is not always the perfect dream that I thought it would be. It has helped me through some of the most difficult transition periods in my life and continues to help me on a daily basis.

For anyone who has depression, anger, anxiety, or feels like their life is simply not going the way they want it to go, I highly recommend learning the art of meditation. If anyone has any question on the subject, I would be happy to answer them. Part of what I do for a living is help coach people through setting up their own meditation practice.
