A Journalist's Musings
As a journalist, I don't often have the opportunity to share my opinion. So I thought I'd come over here and share my point of view on matters affecting our community and the state. I'm not afraid to take a stand, and I welcome the conversation that will follow if you tell me your point of view!

Former Vice President Al Gore was formally awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Stockholm, Sweden this morning, along with the IPCC. Mr. Gore gave a passionate and convincing address about the imperative for governments at all levels to begin acting now to slow the pace of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere.
I doubt any of those who regularly read this blog would be surprised to find out that I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Gore.
His consistent willingness to speak the "inconvenient truth" - namely, that we simply cannot consume fossil fuels at our current pace for very much longer without doing grave and irreversible harm to the biosphere on which we depend - is an inspiring example of courage and principle.
I encourage you to read Mr. Gore's Nobel address. You can find it
here
.
Congratulations to Nobel Peace Prize winners Al Gore and the scientists of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Now I know I don't like your decision making. The only thin inconvienient is how the media never mentions how Mr Gore benefits from the eventual adoption of 'carbon credits'. Maybe once he does things which are not just for himself and rides a regular place like the rest of us, we can take him seriously. And his home? Talk about wasteful ... he used more in electricity per month than most americans use per year.
