Blog Entry 2 of 4 Outspoken Vapor
As a Christian, I consider my existence on this earth "vapor," but even vapor has opinions! As an American citizen, I am free to voice my opinions in a venue such as this. Watch out, though! I plan on writing about everything from U.S. Politics to Trials by Fire--all from the perspective of an American activist Christian. You are free to comment on my views, of course. Though, when you do, please be civil and refrain from using abusive or offensive language. Oh, and try to stay on topic. I will do my very best to provide interesting fodder for intelligent thought--and, at every feasable opportunity, source links for those who wish to either test my veracity, or obtain more information. I hope you, the visitor, will enjoy reading my blog, and perhaps, learn something in the process!

Hollyweird irrationality strikes again!
Contributed by: Catherine Bird   on 10/20/2007

I cannot believe this story has continued to "capture" the Media's attention for this long!

Apparently, this past Tuesday, Ellen DeGeneres broke down crying on her talk show. When I saw the clip on a Fox News program on Wednesday morning, and heard it was about her dog, I assumed her dog, "Iggy,"had either been dog-napped or killed by a fan. If either had happened, I could understand the tears. I, too, would have been crying uncontrollably.

But, then I turned the sound up, and discovered Ellen was crying because she adopted the dog from a rescue group, and, when it didn't get along with her cats, she gave it away--apparently, against the contract she signed when she adopted Iggy. She was supposed to have returned the dog if she was not happy with it.

Ellen did not do this, however. She gave Iggy away to her hairdresser, who apparently then REFUSED to fill out the adoption application when the rescue group asked. So, the group had to take the dog back. This is why Ellen was crying.

What "professional" entertainer breaks down over something so incredibly trivial? Unless, of course, Ellen used her behavior as a means to get her own way, instead of letting the dog rescue group do their job properly.

I rather think the latter is the reason for the over-dramatic breakdown on the TV program Tuesday. After all, hundreds of Ellen's fans have taken matters into their own hands by calling, emailing, and writing threats and hate mail to this dog rescue group. All because Ellen cried on her program.

This is a form of bullying, make no mistake about it! Miss DeGeneres knew her fans were as irrational as she is, so USED them to harrass this poor group, which only exists to help dogs find GOOD homes.

To do their job properly, this group must be able to determine the kind of folks who want to adopt their rescued dogs. Thus, there is an application process, where interested parties answer important questions about themselves, their lifestyles, and their home environments. Some folks just should not have pets, let alone dogs, as their lifestyles or environments aren't suited for them.

You'd think, if someone as irrational as Ellen DeGeneres could pass the application process and adopt a dog from this rescue group, her hairstylist friend shouldn't have a problem. Alas, for whatever reason, the hairdresser chose to refuse to follow the rules--just like Ellen!

Thankfully, sanity prevailed--at least at the dog rescue group! "Iggy" has been adopted by a wonderful family who followed the rules and passed the application process. One more dog saved!

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Ellen DeGeneres's side of the story. Ellen has decided to CANCELL the next few tapings of her show and take a very long weekend off--another example of her irrationality and pettiness. She even has said, on Wednesday's program, that she won't even discuss the issue until it's resolved.

Oh, yeah. Apparently, Ellen and her friend are going to try to sue the dog rescue group to get "Iggy" back. I'm sure no rational judge will even entertain such a lawsuit, since Ellen DID sign the contract with the rescue group, thereby agreeing to the terms of Iggy's adoption.

Who knows? When she loses, perhaps Ellen will enlist the help of the wacky 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. I can see them ruling against sanity--they've done it many times before.

As for myself, I cannot say I'll miss her program. I never watch it, anyway. I prefer sanity and rationality to their opposites.

Perhaps there's hope for sanity in the future. Perhaps, distraught over this issue, Ellen DeGeneres will quit the entertainment industry altogether, and live a life of obscurity within her irrationality.

Aw, who am I kidding? Insanity and irrationality rule the Hollyweird industry, and I'm sure Ellen feels very comfortable there.

Hiya, Joe! Thanks for your comment. I agree with you about Hollyweird's "stars," and don't watch Ellen's program either. Oh, and, if you check your dictionary, you'll find that "weird" is spelled w-e-i-r-d--one of the exceptions to the 'i' before 'e' except after 'c' rule.

Perhaps people will stop watching this trash on TV. These are the "stars" whose every word we salivate over. I wonder if Ellen Disingenuous knows how to spell Hollywierd? ("I" before "E", except after "C.")
