Douglas County Youth Orchestra Auditions

What:	The Douglas County Youth Orchestra is holding auditions for the 2008-2009 concert season on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Christ's Episcopal Church located on the corner of 4th and Cantril in Castle Rock (615 Forth St.) from 9:00 a.m. until 12 noon. String musicians from one year of playing through senior high school can audition. The D.C.Y.O. will be expanding to two groups next year. The Chamber Orchestra will be more advanced students (through high school) and the Junior symphony will be beginners and first and second year players. All current members of the D.C.Y.O. must audition for the next concert season. Please contact our personnel manager, Jenny Dwiggins, to receive an audition time at 720-733-9597 between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. or email dcyo2007@yahoo.com For auditions, please have one solo performance piece (2-3 minutes), sight reading, Chamber Orchestra-two scales from memory through 5# and 5b. Junior Symphony-3 possible scales from memory (C.D, and G minor...2 octaves). Rehearsals will be on Saturday mornings in Castle Rock. Performance venues vary. Semester tuition is $75.00.
