Grads awarded scholarships from Young Farmers


The following 2006 county graduates have been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from Young Farmers and Homemakers Organization:

- Zachary Franklin, a graduate of Douglas County High School in Castle Rock, plans to attend the University of Colorado.

- Evelyn Sikora, a graduate of Chaparral High School in Parker, plans to attend the University of Colorado-Denver.

- Elizabeth McManus, a graduate of Ponderosa High School in Parker, plans to attend Colorado State University.

- Dylan Wilson, a graduate of Ponderosa High School in Parker, plans to attend the University of Northern Colorado.

Young Farmers and Homemakers is a volunteer organization that offers a one-time$2,000 scholarship to graduating seniors from any of the county high schools and attending an in-state, accredited college or university.

If you have ever enjoyed a hamburger or a 25 cent cup of coffee at the County Fair, you have helped the tireless volunteers at Young Farmers and Homemakers support their scholarship fund.

Applications and deadline information is available at all county high school guidance offices.
