Who is this woman and how did she find herself in such a precarious position?
She is none other than Cindy Cleveland, Castle Rock resident and fellow Jazzerciser (note "Jazzercise" on her shirt). Earlier this month Cindy hiked and camped under the stars at the bottom of the Grand Canyon!
This great photo was taken by Marc Cleveland, Cindy's husband.
Cindy emailed me the following details about her recent trip:
10 day hiking and rafting trip in the Grand Canyon June 3-June 12 through Canyon Explorations
Started with a 7 1/2 mile hike down the Bright Angel Trail to the Colorado River
Slept under the stars (and moon) every night
Rafted down the river stopping to take side hikes everyday to side canyons (led by the Guides from Canyon Explorations)
The picture of me is hiking the side canyon called Matkatamiba (a 4 mi wet hike that was mostly climbing and scrambling) on June 7.
A lot of the hikes are climbs and scrambles, 1 hike we used ropes.
Saw lots of wildlife including a king snake, rattle snake, lizards, scorpion, condors, ravens, hawks, eagles, bighorn sheep, deer.
Cindy, you rock!
Sidenote: Next time Cindy and all others who have enjoyed this photo and the information about it can log onto YourHub and do their own posting. It is fun and easy. C'mon. Get on this exciting train while it's still at the station!
