Douglas County School District Endorsements

Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce endorses District bond/budget measure
During its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, September 29, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce endorsed the Douglas County School District bond and budget measures.

Issues 3A (mil levy override) and 3B (bond) will provide additional funding to: maintain and
improve academic achievement, maintain and improve technology, recruit and retain the best
teachers, build 10 new elementary schools to keep up with growth, provide for renovations,
updates, repairs and/or expansions at almost 50 schools and buildings, improve technology
infrastructure at ALL schools, and strategically build out of 4-track.

Pam Ridler, President of the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce says, "One of the biggest reasons the Chamber decided to endorse the School District measures is that we must look at big picture. Our School District is touted as one of the best in the state. We know from an economic development standpoint that having strong schools is very attractive to businesses that are looking at moving into the area or staying in the area. It's important to their employees, and it's also important to be able to find quality employees." She adds, "Because of economy, we had lengthy discussions about these measures. But, the bottom line is we must make sure the quality of our School District is maintained. When it comes to schools, we want to be in the top. We don't want to be mediocre."
