The walls are alive with a new exhibit at the Castle Rock Art Gallery.
What is that you say, a gallery?
Yes indeed, we have an art gallery right on Wilcox in historic downtown Castle Rock. At 240 Wilcox, as a matter of fact. The gallery is newly named Art On The Street as a tie in to the beautiful banners around town. The exhibit space is in all of the public areas of the Williams Professional Building at 240 Wilcox. You may wander around the gallery from 10 until 4, Monday through Saturday. Of course, if you stay that long we might ask you to tea but shorter visits are a must.
The gallery hangs a new exhibit every quarter. The artists' reception for the current group is January 24th from 6:00 until 8:00. Most of the artists will be on hand to answer questions about technique and inspiration or even some more personal queries if you have the nerve to pose them. The reception is open to the public so please join us. If you haven't visited the gallery yet, this is a perfect opportunity. If you've been there before, please come back and see the new pieces.
Art On The Street Gallery is owned by Mark C. Williams and his lovely wife Linda and run with help from the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild. There are exhibit maps at the reception desk to help guide you around the gallery and a host on duty to answer any questions or to aid you in your purchases. The Gallery features a variety of mediums from oil, watercolor, pastels, photography, sculpture, glass, wood, jewelry, fiber, pottery and even note cards for that special occasion.
Both the Gallery and the Guild are committed to bringing art into the community to feed our human need for artistic expression and to create a venue for our local artists to exhibit in their own town. Please come and enjoy with us.
