QUIET TIME
Contributed by: Bob Rotruck on 10/6/2007

Did you ever notice the noise in our life?
It is the source of much of our strife.
We are so busy running here and there,
It seems that the noise is everywhere.
The clanging of carts at the grocery store,
The scuffling of feet on even a carpeted floor!
Horns that blare when the traffic is slow,
There are so many people in a hurry to go.
I get so tired of hearing it all,
I just want some quiet, the noise to stall.
God hears my prayers and answers so well,
Because He knows I need a rest from the quell.
He changes the sky from blue to light gray,
And He drops the temp to prepare the spray.
And there it comes in all of God's white glory,
Snow brings the quiet to complete this story.
Just listen when the snow falls our way,
The peace and quiet just makes my day.
Even a car on the street out back,
Barely a sound and only a tire track.
My dear God you know the perfect medication,
For my tension, the snow comes with loving dedication.
"Now be quiet my child, I will calm that nerve,"
Oh God thank you, I will go forth and serve.
The quiet gives me energy that way,
Thank you God for a beautiful, quiet day!
