Contributed by: Kristina Vourax on 8/15/2007

Hilltop United Church of Christ, located at 10926 E. Democrat Road in Parker, recently appointed Patrick Bentrott as its new youth minister.

"Patrick brings great experience and skill in working with young people to Hilltop United Church of Christ," says Hilltop Minister, James Reed. "He also brings a commitment to helping our youth better understand and grow in the Christian faith, and enthusiasm for involving young people in service projects in the community, the Denver area and beyond."

"I want to create an environment where the youth at Hilltop can actively learn about and explore their faith while serving in the world like Jesus did," says Bentrott.

Bentrott holds a B.A. in Theology and Philosophy from Emhurst College in Emhurst, Illinois, and is currently enrolled in a Master's of Divinity program at the Iliff School of Theology in Denver.

Bentrott has also spent time in Calcutta, India, helping street children with written and verbal English skills; he has supervised and worked with children in a residential treatment facility for at-risk youth in Kansas City; has provided street outreach and community education to teens in a homeless shelter in Kansas City; and is currently assisting and caring for children with developmental disabilities through the Catholic Charities of Denver.
