According to
Wikipedia,
"A tagline is a variant of a branding slogan typically used in marketing materials and advertising. The idea behind the concept is to create a memorable phrase that will sum up the tone and premise of a brand or product (like a film), or to reinforce the audience's memory of a product. Examples of famous movie/television taglines are:
* Alien - In space, no one can hear you scream.
* Love Story - Love means never having to say you're sorry.
* Star Trek - To boldly go where no man has gone before.
* Star Wars - A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...
* The X-Files - The truth is out there.
* Jaws 2 - Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..."
Churches also use taglines - they look for phrases that will attract attention and give a sense of what the church is like. Often the tagline is a summary of the vision and mission statement of the church. For example, the church I attend, Cornerstone Community Church, uses the tagline "Equipping generations to follow Christ'. We expand on the tagline on our
Vision page of our website.
If you are looking for a church, taglines can sometimes help. Here's a list of some of the taglines of Castle Rock Churches. Hover over the tagline with your mouse to see the church name.
