Actual Women's Liberation

The Vedic Viewpoint and Other Spiritual Perspectives

It seems as though many women have lost their feminine nature. They have given up their positions as proper mothers and wives thinking these positions to be lesser than the corporate or working worlds. What is wrong with being a successful mother, wife and home maker? Why did you feel it wasn't such an important job? Are women really less intelligent? Do they not see that now they not only have to take care of the children but now work hard unnecessarily, pay the bills, make some kind of idea of meals, clean the house, grocery shop and on and on. Now no one is satisfied. You're a wreck, your husband and kids eat mostly processed or fast food. The husband and kids are neglected and so is your house work and there is no time for you. What kind of a life is this? Why do you put your kids with someone you don't really even know all day long? Your not raising them some unknown person is. If you add up all the expenses because of your working, it certainly doesn't pay. There is the day care, more doctor bills, (due to improper nutrition for yourself and family) it costs more to eat out or call in. You may have to pay a maid or dry cleaning bills because there is no time for all that and if you do these tasks you are completely exhausted. You pay extra gas money for driving to and from work. You or your family may need a therapist or antidepressant drugs because of this hectic lifestyle which is a big expense.

In the Vedic culture our Creator, also known as Krishna, Vishnu, Allah, Jehovah, etc., gave specific activities for different people. Women are supposed to take care of the husband and children and help with the husband's career and take care of the home. The husband is supposed to be the main bread winner and protect the wife and children. These roles are called Dharma or our occupational duties. If one follows their prescribed duties then they can be happy in life according to the Vedic knowledge.

Many marriages end in divorce because two men running one house hold is just an imbalance of energy. So what good have we done to give up our God given positions as nurturing mothers and wives? Is it such a terrible position? Just think of how much time you would have to teach your children manners, right and wrong and so many nice things. Animals know what their roles are and they just do it. The problem with humans is they have free will and they misuse it. Animals just follow the laws of nature.

The New Woman's Liberation Movement is to get our freedom back. Liberation means freedom and happiness. Well are you free- are you really happy working day and night unnecessarily? I don't think so... If we want to bring balance back to this world then we need more feminine energy. Why should women be the same as men? It's just plain unnatural. The nature of salt is salty and the nature of sugar is sweet. If sugar tastes like salt then it's not sugar. Similarly the nature of women is nurturing, loving caring, compassion, and shyness. Yes shyness. Women are so aggressive now a day, this harshness is so unattractive and it is a masculine quality.

The clothes women wear are so extreme, either very masculine or very lusty in appearance. You can not tell the working women from the men. There is nothing pretty about women's clothes anymore. When are we going to wear pretty, feminine and chased clothing again? We have allowed society dictate what is beautiful and if you look around and ask yourself are the styles for women beautiful- you would say nay.

Let's go with the New Women's Liberation Movement and give the men back their corporate jobs and ugly suits and if we decide to have children then decide to stay home and raise them properly. Care for your husband and children, love them, nourish them, and feed them properly. Teach your children good morals, spirituality and what to avoid in life. Maybe you have been working so long you don't even know yourself what's what. Or maybe your mom was a working mom so you didn't even learn yourself. Now you will have time to research and find out yourself. And if your mom did stay home don't you owe that to your family. Make your house a home, organize things, and make it beautiful and functional. Do some gardening with the kids. Find yourself again. You are not a man you are part and parcel of the original Goddess and you have a lot of wonderful feminine qualities to contribute to your family and to the world. If you do this, then we can talk about actual liberation.
