Barbecue is kick-off for alzheimer's fundraising

Residents, families, and staff gathered at the Castle Rock Care Center on Aug. 12 for their annual Barbecue to begin fund-raising efforts for the 2006 Alzheimer's Memory walk.

The Dietary Department served mouth watering food: burgers, brats, chicken, hot dogs, and allthe complimentary side dishes. No one went away hungry and everyone enjoyed the entertainment that was a strolling guitarist singing many familiar tunes.

In addition to fund-raising at the barbecue, funds for alzheimer's have also been raised with proceeds from a bake sale. Watch for our car wash, Saturday, Aug. 26 at Swiss Tires and Automotive in downtown Castle Rock.

If you want to be a Member of our Memory Walk team, "The Castle Rockers" call Tara or Jan at 303-688-3174. This year's walk is on Sept. 16th at City Park.
