Where are we?
Contributed by: Julie Robinson on 8/23/2006

I recommend a day trip to downtown Castle Rock's Perry Street.

1. A must! Park your car

2. Enjoy a sandwich at Dream Pastries out on their porch swing,

3. Window shop and stop in stores you wouldn't normally see when driving past.

4. Walk up Perry to read the historical marker on the old Harris Hotel which is now an apartment building showing signs of its age. Take time to wonder why no one is restoring it

5. Take a moment to look through Hooked on Books with its new and used books.

6. Nearby, there is a new restaurant opening soon called Sienna. Peek in the windows through the brown paper hiding the view of the construction. Their menu which looks very promising is posted on the entrance under glass.

7. Take a picture in front of the "You are Here" sign on the side of Petra Petite, a children's clothing boutique.

Our daughter, Karen, is always saying "picture me" and you can just imagine how many pictures we have of her but we had to have just one more in front of the "You are here" sign

8. After all the walking your lunch may have worn off enough to have an ice cream at The Olde Town Creamery. They have the best ice cream in town and my favorite pralines and cream! The icecream is always soft and fresh tasting.
