Scout fills needs with handicap ramp; needs funds
Contributed by: Alex Mullans on 11/18/2007

Life Scout Alex Mullans of Troop 1262 in Castle Rock is currently constructing a handicap ramp for the SkyCliff Stroke Center.

The ramp connects to a patio made by another now-Eagle Scout to allow the patrons of SkyCliff to access it safely and easily. The patio and planters were both created by other Scouts and this project is the final capstone that connects those projects to SkyCliff.

The ramp also serves as a new, safer emergency exit in case of fire or other accident.

The total cost of the project is estimated to be around $2000. Alex has been able to raise about $200 of that so far. Donations from the Lowe's Home Improvement Center of Greenwood Village and the Home Depot of Park Meadows have brought that total to around $1000.

He is asking for donations from individuals and businesses to cover the rest of the cost. SkyCliff is a 501 (3)(c) non-profit organization in the state of Colorado, so any donations given to the project will receive a tax-free receipt for income tax filing.
