A car wash-a-thon scheduled for 10 a.m. June 21 at the Castle Rock Bank parking lot at 506 Castle Pines Parkway will help benefit Rock Canyon High School's marching band.
This is a fundraiser that will benefit the entire band department - concert band, symphonic band, jazz band and our award winning Jaguar Marching Band. The RCHS band program has a very limited budget and fundraising proceeds we earn, go towards the purchase of music, field show instructors, guest conductors and clinicians and cost for maintaining our equipment and uniforms.
The proceeds will also be used to offset cost for the marching band trip to this year's Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Tex.
We believe strongly in the importance of music education in our children's lives. Statistics show that children who are involved in music learn life skills that affect their lives in so many ways.
Our hard-working students will graciously accept tips; however, it is not required. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. We thank you for helping us reach our goal of washing 50 cars for free.
Our band director, Mr.
Joel Naegele
, the parents and students would also like to thank the Castle Rock Bank, Starbucks and Big-O Tires for allowing us to use their facilities.
