Contributed by: Lynn Ercolani on 8/4/2006

Preventable injuries are the leading cause of death for Coloradans between the age of 1 and 44. In Colorado, traumatic injuries account for 2,800 deaths and 28,000 hospitalizations annually. Denver Health strives to reduce injuries by conducting research and developing programs to identify prevention strategies.

The Denver Health 5 th annual Save a Life Golf Tournament, Monday, August 21 at Green Valley Ranch golf club, supports Denver Health's injury prevention activities. These include health and safety presentations at local schools and community events as well as car seat safety checks, bicycle helmet distribution, senior safety programs, teen driving programs, violence prevention and auto pedestrian crash research and prevention.

To register for the Save a Life Golf Tournament, or for more information, call 303-436-6558. Deadline for registration is Friday, August 11.
