Village Fitness Club will hold its first "Workouts for St. Jude," benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, February 22 and 24.
A mixed cardio class will take place Thursday, Feb. 22, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Individuals can take part in one or both hours. Cost is $15 for one hour or $25 for two hours.
On Saturday, Feb. 24, a three-hour indoor cycling session.will run from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $15 per hour, or $40 for all three hours.
All proceeds benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, the Memphis-based hospital freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities world-wide. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. ALSAC Volunteer Service Center, St. Jude's fund-raising organization, financially supports the hospital throughout events such as Village Fitness Club's workouts.
The workouts are part of Village Fitness' ongoing series of events to benefit important health-based organizations, says Susie Nelson, the club's general manager. "As part of our commitment to the health and wellness of this community, we want to give local residents the chance to help first-hand while helping their own health and fitness at the same time."
