This New Year, fitness again is at the top of the resolutions list for many Douglas County residents. But, according to Energizer's Keep Going™
fitness survey, 22 percent of those who begin fitness training will stop after just two weeks. Another 33 percent stop after one month and 32 percent after two months.
Tohelp well-intentioned resolution-makers, Village Fitness Club is opening classes in the popular Pilates Reformer equipment to non-members as well as members, and offering a January package to do so. The Reformer provides finely tuned exercise resistance that allows one to work very precisely with alignment, core strength, and all of the Pilates exercise principles.
Pilates exercise allows people to "work smarter, not harder," says Susie Nelson, Village Fitness' general manager, and get excellent results. Because the technique is gentle on the body, it also is an optimal choice for those with or recovering from injuries and during pregnancy.
Individuals can sign up for any one of six group Reformer classes by calling Village Fitness at 303-688-4949. Registration one week in advance assures best availability, according to Nelson. Through January, the club is offering a package of three private sessions and three group classes for $129 ($99 for club members). Participants also can purchase single classes or packages of multiple classes at a discount.
