Four 'treecycling' sites to open in Castle Rock
Send out the holidays the eco-friendly way - recycle your real Christmas tree at a Castle Rock park.
Four Town parks will serve as treecycling sites from Dec. 26 through Jan. 31.
Trees dropped off in the parks' parking lots during that period will be chipped into mulch,
which will be given away at the same parks from Jan. 15 through March 15.
The Town's Parks Division has been recycling real Christmas trees for the past 10 years. About 1,000 trees are recycled each year at Castle Rock parks.
If mulch is left over after the pick-up period ends on March 15, the Town will use it at its properties.
Residents can drop off decoration-free evergreens and pick up mulch at these parks:
- Centennial Park, 22 N. Gilbert St.
- Founders Park, 4671 Enderud Road
- Metzler Ranch Community Park, 4175 Trail Boss Road
- Paintbrush Park, 3492 Meadows Blvd.
