Parade, fireworks fill Sedalia's Fourth
Contributed by: Carole Williams on 6/25/2007

Sedalia's traditional parade and fireworks display begin with an afternoon of events.

The Sedalia Historic Firehouse Museum, 4033 Platt Ave., opens at 1 p.m. with exhibits and a display of local artists and quilters. At 3:30, birdhouses will be auctioned at the fire station to benefit the museum.

The parade, featuring fire equipment from West Douglas County Fire Protection District, begins at 5 p.m., followed by a picnic at Sedalia Elementary School. Fire station personnel and the public compete in a horseshoe tournament at the school from 6:30 p.m. to dusk, when the fireworks display begins.

West Douglas County Fire Protection District and the museum are event sponsors.
