125
th anniversary magnets available to help celebrate the holidays
For a meaningful and affordable holiday gift, residents can pick up 125
th anniversary magnets, $5 each, at Castle Rock Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St., from the finance window, until they're gone.
Sales from the magnets benefit the Douglas County History Research Center, located at the Philip S. Miller Library. The magnet will also be available at the Starlighting event Nov. 18.
The magnet features the official 125
th anniversary logo and downtown Castle Rock at the turn of the century. The photograph was originally used a decade ago on postcards available for purchase by Castle Rock visitors. It pictures a train pulling into the station with the town's namesake rock rising in the background.
"I think they make a nice teacher gift or stocking stuffer," said Senior Community Relations Specialist
Carrie McCausland. "They also make a personal addition to a plate of cookies or gift basket."
The 3-inch square, ceramic magnets were made in a collaboration between two local businesses, Awards With More and Master Magnetics.
