Well, over Labor Day weekend my boyfriend (now fiancee!!)
Jeff Shehan
and I were staying at his family's no electicity, no plumbing, no heat, two-room cabin in Alma. Sunday, Sept. 3, we decided to go on a hike around Kite Lake, which is at the bottom of fourteeners Mount Bross, Mount Democrat, Mount Cameron and Mount Lincoln.
After hiking around for an hour or so we find a nice place to sit and have a picnic. Jeff goes to the Air Force Academy and is in a botany class, so after the picnic we decided to walk around a meadow to find flowers for one of his assignments. At one point, I went one direction and he went another. All of a sudden he called me over to look at this "really neat" flower.
As I walk up to my squatting boyfriend and look over his shoulder, I see no flower. Before I knew it, he is on one knee with a ring in my face. I was speechless. He said, "
Bethany Rachel Truhler
, will you marry me?" He was so nervous that he was shaking. Iwasn't able to talk, but had the biggest grin on my face. He stood up and asked if that was a "yes," and of course I said, yes! He put the ring on my finger and we stood there for at least 15 minutes hugging and kissing each other. My face hurt because I had been smiling so much.
He then proceded to tell me that we had to get going because he has a surprise for me. He took me to Breckinridge (about 20 miles away) and surprised me with a hotel room at The Lodge: Hotel and Spa. But, that wasn't all of it. He then told me he made an appointment for me to get a massage! A professional one! I had never had one before that night. It wasso amazing. I was a moving blob when I was done.
After the massage we went to an engagement celebration dinner with his parents. After dinner we went back to the hotel, enjoyed theamazing room and (after I called all my friends and family) went to bed. It was the best day ever!

Hey! I wasn't sure how to put an update on here... but the wedding plans are coming along. I am just getting a little stressed out about all the details...like photography, florist...etc... any help or suggestions would be great! Thanks!
