Its kind of a sister act. Two local sisters, while not on identical tracks, do seem to be on parallel tracks.
Amanda Howard
, Douglas County High School graduate of 2004 is now a junior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
Amy
Howard, Douglas County High School graduate of 2006, will be a freshman there in the fall. She graduated May 25 at Douglas County Stadium.
Both women were part of the International Baccalaureate Program in Douglas County and both have received full academic scholarships to Colorado College.
At this point, they are individually planning science-related majors and careers. Amanda will be taking her semester abroad in September.
Amanda played lacrosse at Douglas County and at Colorado College, where she is on a traveling team. Amy, who was president of the 2006 senior class at Douglas County, has been on the tennis team with hopes of playing at Colorado College as well.
Both Amanda and Amy have been active in programs and mission projects at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Castle Rock. They are the daughters of
Joe
and
Jolene
Howard.
