Village Fitness Club will offer three flu shot clinics for local residents in October.
The clinics will take place Saturday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m.-12 noon, and Thursday, Oct. 11, 4-7 p.m.
Cost is $25 for a flu shot, $30 for the nasal vaccine, and $35 for a pneumonia shot. The clinic is open to the public. Colorado Flu Shot Company of Littleton will administer shots and vaccines, and will provide receipts to all participants for insurance purposes.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Disease Control and Environmental Epidemiology Division, an estimated 15-40 percent of the population will develop illness from influenza every year. The single best way to prevent the flu, say the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is to get vaccinated each fall.
Individuals interested in a clinic must call Village Fitness at 303-688-4949 to reserve a spot. Registrations will be accepted until each session is full.
