Douglas County Libraries Foundation is pleased to announce An Evening with Dave Barry at The Wildlife Experience (10035 South Peoria, Parker), Thursday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. This lighthearted evening is a fundraiser to benefit the Douglas County Libraries Foundation. The program is a lively discussion with Dave Barry hosted by Jamie Brickhouse, Director of HarperCollins Speaker Bureau and stand-up comedian, followed by a book signing with books available to purchase from Tattered Cover Book Store. Tickets for general admission to the program are $20. A reception will be held prior to the program with food, drinks and an opportunity to mingle with Dave Barry. Tickets to this reception and preferred seating for the program are $50. Tickets will go on sale August 1.

Dave Barry is a humor columnist with his work appearing in more than 500 newspapers in the United States and abroad. In 1988 he won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. He has written 30 books, and is currently working on a new book with Ridley Pearson called Science Fair, due out in October.

An Evening with Dave Barry is part of the Author Extravaganza: a group of events highlighting writers and their craft, which include the Castle Rock Writers Conference and Getting it Down - A Workshop for Writers. For updates about author and writing events visit DouglasCountyLibraries.org.
