Looking to improve your child's reading skills and self-confidence? What could be more fun and encouraging than reading aloud to a specially-trained doggie buddy? Based on research that demonstrates the benefits of the human-animal bond, the Douglas County Libraries
Bark for Books
program pairs R.E.A.D. buddies (Reading Education Assistance Dogs, certified by Intermountain Therapy Animals,) and their trainers with new or struggling young readers.
