A successful encore for page to stage
Contributed by: Kristin Hayek on 7/24/2008

More than 7,500 children and their families enjoyed a performance of the Page to Stage production of "Martha Stories" this year. The goal of Douglas County Libraries Page to Stage Productions is to promote reading and further arts-in-education through theatrical outreach. Throughout May and June, "Martha Stories" visited 19 schools for a total of 23 performances, plus 8 performances at local library branches. Teachers at the schools confirmed the production helps them meet two primary goals: promoting reading and literature, and supplementing the arts curriculum. All of this for a cost of less than one dollar per student! Douglas County Libraries would like to thank its Page to Stage sponsors, Target and Pete Doty Metro Brokers, for making this tour possible.
