Douglas County Libraries has received some questions regarding the proposed Parker Library and we want to make sure the correct information is out there.
· The new library facility will only be constructed if new funding is found - see ballot resolution at DouglasCountyLibraries.org/AboutUs/MillLevy.
· An architect was chosen, but the full plan - floor layout, precise square feet per area - won't be developed until 2009, with an opportunity for public input.
· The new facility would be ADA compliant, and built in Old Town Parker on donated land worth an estimated $2 million.
· There would be plenty of parking and more meeting room space.
· The new Parker Library would also have more computers and improved access to the internet.
· Patrons from around the county could access its larger collection of books, music, magazines, movies and research resources, and of course, with a new Parker Library comes a stronger, county-wide library system.
