Bonfils Blood Drives at Libraries
Contributed by: Kristin Hayek on 10/3/2008

Philip S. Miller Library (100 S. Wilcox St., Castle Rock) is hosting a Bonfils blood drive on Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If that time or location isn't convenient, Parker Library (10851 South Crossroads Drive) will host a Bonfils blood drive on Sunday, October 26 from 12:30-5:00 p.m. Please call Bonfils Blood Center at 303 -363-2300 to register in advance.

Bonfils needs 4,000 blood donations weekly to meet the needs of the community and to be prepared for unexpected events. The need for blood is constant, since red blood cells are useable for just 42 days and platelets are useable for only five days. Blood donation is one of the easiest ways to help your community, with each whole blood donation taking less than an hour, and having the potential to help several people.

For information about the process of giving blood, go online to bonfils.org. Douglas County Libraries is online at DouglasCountyLibraries.org.
