No more knocking! Solicitors go away!
Contributed by: Dave & Ryan Beaumont on 5/14/2007

They're coming! They walk our streets with a clipboard in hand, a story to tell and something to sell. They are the dreaded, uninvited, unwelcome solicitors of America. But how can we put an end to their random knockings? How can we avoid their often pitiful stories? How can we say "NO!" to their $25 window washings? Don't we want digital cable? Shouldn't we help Big Jimmy get to Spain by buying an oil change discount program card?

If you choose to stop the madness the solution is remarkably simple. As homewners, we often feel that we have little control regarding door-to-door solicitation. But, by clearly marking our homes with a "No Soliciting" sign, we are effectively denying uninvited solicitors access to our property while enforcing our constitutional rights to privacy and property protection.

Ah, yes, all you need is a sign you say... What? Where can you find a good free sign? Well, I have them! In 2002, my second year as a Denver homeowner, those pesky peddlers annoyed our family so much that I had 2000 decals produced to call a time-out in the tiresome tradition of door-to-door solicitation. It's really simple to rid your home from most of the knocking and feels really good when you see a solicitor see the sign, then walk away without saying a word.

All area residents can request a free 3x4" gold foil, weatherproof decal by sending two .41 postage stamps to: Created for You Productions, 3400 S. Eudora St., Denver, CO, 80222. Visit www.solicitorfree.com for some more solicitor free ideas and information.
