MAN ARRESTED AT GUNPOINT
A 26-year-old Castle Rock man was apprehended at gunpoint June 15 after he allegedly led police on a high speed chase. An officer attempted to pull the man over at 1:07 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 85 and Front Street because he was driving erratically. The driver, however, attempted to speed off before he was arrested at gunpoint on the 700 block of Whispering Oak Drive. He was arrested on suspicion of eluding a police officer and careless driving.

Police responded at 5:31 a.m. to King Soopers, 100 Founders Parkway, to a report of a shoplifting in progress. Officers detained the men and reportedly found unpurchased merchandise totalling approximately $1,375 both inside their vehicle and concealed inside the store. They were arrested without incident. Two of the shoplifters are from Mexico and the other is from Long Beach, Calif., according to the report.
