Blotter: Police recover several stolen cars

POLICE RECOVER STOLEN VEHICLES
On June 22, officers responded to Med Ved Hummer, 1520 S. Wilcox St., to investigate a report of broken glass. The officers discovered that someone had entered the building by breaking out the south windows and then stealing two Hummer H2 vehicles valued at approximately $60,000 each. The officers also discovered that the Ford building at 1404 S. Wilcox St. and the Chevrolet building at 1506 S. Wilcox St. also were vandalized. A Saleen Mustang was damaged at the Ford building. A vehicle stolen from the 5200 block of Knobcone Drive was abandoned outside the Hummer building. A Douglas County deputy recovered one of the stolen H2 vehicles in Perry Park. Castle Rock officers recovered the other H2 vehicle in a field south of the Med Ved Hummer building along with another truck stolen on Knobcone Drive. An additional vehicle stolen from unincorporated Douglas was found abandoned on Knobcone Drive. All of the stolen vehicles associated with this case had the keys left inside the passenger compartment. There are no suspects at this time and the investigation is continuing, according to police.

ACCIDENT LEADS TO ARREST
A 35-year-old Castle Rock woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant June 16 after she was involved in a traffic accident. Police were dispatched at 5:32 p.m. to mile marker 181 on Interstate 25 on a report of a crash. The woman, who was found to be at fault for the accident, was arrested for a warrant out of Douglas County Sheriff's Department for larceny and identity theft. She was transported to jail, where she was held on a bond.

MAN'S CAR STOLEN FROM GARAGE
A 56-year-old Highlands Ranch man reported someone stole his sedan from his garage sometime between 9:15 p.m. June 17 and 8 a.m. June 18. The man, who lives on the 3400 block of Meadow Creek Place, stated he left the keys in the ignition overnight. The Chrsyler M300 was estimated to be worth $25,000.

COMMUNITY GARDEN VANDALIZED
Several plots in a community garden in Highlands Ranch were vandalized sometime between 5 p.m. June 14 and 1:30 p.m. June 15. The manager of the Corn Cobb Community Garden, 9191 Sugarstone Circle, reported someone pulled out several plants and fences.

GROCERY STORE EMPLOYEE BUSTED
A 22-year-old Littleton woman was issued a summons for theft at 5:45 p.m. June 16 after she allegedly altered the price of food for her boyfriend. A security guard at King Soopers, 2205 W. Wildcat Reserve Parkway, reported the woman took $10 off a $15.15 sandwich for her boyfriend. The woman allegedly stated she and her boyfriend have been going through hard times and couldn't afford food.

SEDALIA MAN CITED FOR ASSAULT
A 69-year-old Sedalia man was cited for assault, criminal mischief and harassment June 16 after he allegedly busted out the car window of a county employee. A processor server stated he went to a house on the 5600 block of North Strawberry Street in Castle Rock to serve a woman with papers, but instead got her father. The man allegedly became irate and tore the papers up. The county employee also stated the man followed him to his car and busted out his car window.
