FIREFIGHTERS EXTINGUISH BLAZE
Firefighters were able to put out a house fire that broke out June 25 at a home on the 900 block of Park View Street. Police and fire were dispatched at 9:22 p.m. to the house on a report of flames coming from the roof of the residence. No one was home at the time of the fire. The case currently is under investigation.
HOMELESS MAN ARRESTED
A 45-year-old homeless man was placed under arrest June 29 after he was found lying on the sidewalk in front of a closed business. Police arrested the man at 6:03 p.m. after he was found on the 100 block of Caprice Court. Police say the man had a felony warrant out for his arrest out of the Colorado Department of Corrections for a parole violation on escape and theft charges. He was arrested without incident.
DRIVER AIRLIFTED TO HOSPITAL
A 51-year-old Colorado Springs man was airlifted to a local hospital at approximately 12:09 p.m. June 27 after he was involved in a car accident near Interstate 25 and Plum Creek Parkway. Police say it appears the man struck the overpass support pillar on the interstate at a high rate of speed. The man later was airlifted to Swedish Medical Center.

SEDALIA MAN ARRESTED AT BUD'S
A 53-year-old Sedalia man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment June 26 after he allegedly shot his gun in the air outside of a bar. Deputies were dispatched at 5:56 p.m. to Bud's Bar, 5453 Colorado 67, on a report of shots fired. An investigation revealed the Sedalia man had just walked outside and fired one round into the air with a shotgun. The man, who admitted to having a drink at the bar, said he shot the gun as a joke. He stated he shot it after a friend of his told him someone outside was letting the air out of his tires. He allegedly admitted it was a stupid thing to do.
GRIFTER CAUGHT IN THE ACT
A security guard at King Soopers, 9551 S. University Blvd., caught a man who pulled a faulty money exchange at the store at about 3:30 p.m. June 25. The guard stated he watched as the man asked a cashier for a $100 bill in exchange for a $50, two $20 bills and a $10 bill. The man, however, stated the cashier accidentally gave him back a $1 bill. After he received another $100 bill from the cashier, the man left, but the guard chased him down in the parking lot and got the $100 bill back. The man laterwalked off and could not be located by deputies.
