MAN CITED FOR HITTING COP'S CAR
A 37-year-old Highlands Ranch man was cited for disorderly conduct and careless driving July 1 after he allegedly ran into a state patrol trooper's car. The man reportedly was upset that a trooper was parked near the driveway to his house on the 1200 block of Iris Court. The man allegedly backed his car into the trooper's vehicle to make his point. The trooper stated he was there on an official investigation. As the deputy was explaining the citation, the man allegedly replied, "You don't need to explain it to me. I was wrong and you are going to take the side of another cop."
TEENAGER CITED FOR THEFT
An 18-year-old Monument man was issued a citation for theft July 5 after he was caught stealing items from vendors at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. The man allegedly stole a silk bag containing silver coins, a dragon key chain and several wrist bands valued at $75. In his defense, the teen stated he often accidentally places items in his pockets and forgets about them.
