Sheriff's blotter: Man arrested after fight

SCREWS PLACED IN DRIVEWAY
A deputy responded to a report of criminal mischief on the 9600 block of Bellmore Place in Highlands Ranch at 1 p.m. Aug. 11. A 66-year-old homeowner told the deputy someone had placed several nails and screws in his driveway in an attempt to puncture his car's tires. The deputy saw several screws sitting facing up just outside of the man's garage door. The man told the deputy he had installed a security camera on his front porch after someone had sprayed his rose bush with weed killer in 2005. The man said the camera was not working and he could not identify who placed the objects in his driveway. Deputies had no suspects at the time of the report.


MAN ARRESTED AFTER FIGHT
Deputies responded to a report of a two men fighting on the 600 block of West County Line Road in Highlands Ranch at 12:53 a.m. Aug. 7. As the deputies approached the area, one of the men charged one of the deputies. The deputy pointed his gun at the man and told him to stop and get down on the ground. The man complied and the deputies took both men into custody. The man who charged at the deputy was extremely drunk and combative and told the deputy to "go ahead and beat me" as he was being arrested. The man was placed in restraints and taken to Douglas County Jail. The other man said he lived nearby and told the deputies he was only trying to break up the fight. The man said a third man ran away when the deputies arrived. Deputies never witnessed a third man and could not find anyone in the area. The second man was released and issued a summons for underage drinking.


BICYCLES STOLEN FROM HOME
A woman told a deputy that four bikes were stolen from outside her home on the 8100 block of Eagleview Drive in Littleton at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8. The woman said she and her children left their bikes on the front lawn overnight and when she woke-up the next morning she noticed they were gone. The four bikes are valued at $485. Deputies canvassed the area and spoke to neighbors who said they saw a large truck with bicycles and other items in the bed driving through the neighborhood on the morning of Aug. 8.

TV STOLEN
A maintenance supervisor at a housing development on the 10000 block of Crescent Meadow Boulevard in Parker reported a 54-inch flat screen TV stolen to deputies at 8:45 a.m. Aug. 9. The man said the mounted the TV in the leasing office on Aug. 8. Sheriff's deputies determined there were no signs of forced entry to the office. The TV is valued at $2,400. Deputies had no suspects at the time of the report.
