Police Blotter: Possible Mountain Lion Sighting

Possible Mountain Lion Sighting
On Sept. 29 at about 5:25 p.m., a person reported a mountain lion walking near ClearSkyElementary School, 1470 Clear Sky Way in Castle Rock. The lion was reported on the east side of the school, walking south to north. Officers arrived and checked the area. No lion, lion tracks, or additional witnesses were located. The Department of Wildlife was notified of the event. No further police action at this time.

Motorcycle Accident
On Sept. 29 at 11:26 a.m., officers and the Castle Rock Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Meadows Pkwy and Prairie Hawk Dr. on a report of an unknown injury accident involving a motorcycle. The 73-year-old motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries. The rider was wearing his helmet at the time of the accident. Hospital personnel later confirmed that the rider sustained multiple bone fractures and other internal injuries. His condition is currently stable, but hospital personnel are not sure of his long term prognosis due to his internal injuries. The driver of the at-fault vehicle was issued a summons for careless driving involving injury.
