Sherrif's Blotter: XM radio missing

XM Radio Stolen

Between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. on Sept. 28, an XM radio was stolen from a car parked in the driveway of a house at the 6900 block of Serena Drive in Castle Pines. The owner of the car told officers that they left the car unlocked. The victim also told officers that whoever entered the car left a gray jacket on the front seat. The serial number to the XM radio is 5WHW60M.

Mystery Check Leads to Scam

On Sept. 27 at 11:10 a.m. officers reported to a fraud at a home in the 10600 block of Chadsworth Lane in Highlands Ranch. The victim told police that she believed she was the victim of identity theft. She told officers she received a call from a man in Illinois asking why she had sent his daughter a check for $2,000 from Paragon Controls. The victim said she did not send the check and she didn't know the man, nor did she know his daughter. The man told the victim the check was sent via a FedEx account. The victim called FedEx and found that an account in her name and address had been created on Sept. 25. She also told officers she called Paragon Controls and that they told her a scam using their company name had been going on for several months. The victim said she used her credit card while on vacation in Chicago to purchase tour tickets online. The investigation is still ongoing.

Open-House Theft

On Sept. 28 between 12 and 3:30 p.m., medication from a woman living at a house in the 9200 block of Hickory Circle in Highlands Ranch, was stolen. The woman told police she believes someone visiting her home during a scheduled open house took the pills. She discovered several prescribed Percoset missing from the bottle in her medicine cabinet after the open house. The real estate agent said she did not see anyone take the pills.

School Computer Missing

Between 8 and 2 p.m. on Sept. 24, a computer was stolen from PonderosaHigh School, 7007 E. Bayou Gulch Road in Parker. Office staff told police they took the computer from its shipper and left it in the office for the school's IT department to pick it up. When the IT department arrived, the computer was missing. There were no leads at the time of this report.

Purse Stolen at the Pump

At 3:51 p.m. on Sept. 28, police responded to a theft at the Diamond Shamrock at 8071 Blakeland Drive in Littleton. A woman told police she had pulled into a gas pump where she reached in her purse to get her credit card. She sat the purse in the passenger seat and then walked around her car to the pump. She told police she left the car unlocked while she pumped gas. When she returned to the car, she noticed her purse missing. She told officers she didn't hear or see anything. In the purse was $50 in cash and a credit card.

Golf Clubs Missing

On Sept. 26 at 4:41 p.m. officers reported to a theft at a home in the 3400 block of Craftsbury Drive in. The resident told police that a set of golf clubs valued at $2,500 was stolen from his garage. He also told police he noticed the clubs missing on Sept. 2, but did not know if he wanted to file a police report because he wasn't sure if he wanted to file an insurance claim. The resident told officers he believes the clubs were visible to the public during a garage sale in late August. Nothing else of value was taken from the garage. The resident did not see or hear anything suspicious around the time he believes the clubs went missing.
