POSSIBLE GUNSHOTS FIRED NEAR HOME
At 10:20 p.m. July 6, officers were dispatched to a home on the 3800 block of Alcazar Drive on a report of gunshots fired. The homeowner told officers she had been watching television when she heard what she believed to be two distinct gunshots outside her home. She said she went to her front window and saw two men running westbound on Alcazar Drive where they got into a car and left the area at a high rate of speed. She is not certain, but the woman thought she saw one of the men carrying a handgun and is sure she did not hear fireworks or a car backfiring. Officers canvassed the area, but could not find shell casings or immediate signs of gunfire.
FESTIVAL TENT DESTROYED
At 12:07 p.m. July 5, officers were dispatched to Butterfield Crossing Park, 3952 Butterfield Crossing Drive, on a report of a criminal mischief. A 24-year-old man told officers he set up a stage and a tent for the Meadows July Fourth Celebration. He said he left both the tent and stage set up overnight and when he came to pick them up on July 5, he found the tent had six cuts in the fabric. Also, some of the ropes used to tie down the tent were also cut. If the tent has to be replaced, it is going to cost approximately $1,500.
