Douglas County school storage burglarized. A 33-year-old superintendent for RMK Electric reported a burglary at 8:12 a.m. Aug. 24 at a Douglas County Schools storage facility at
701 Prairie Hawk Drive, Castle Rock. The man told Castle Rock Police someone cut the exterior padlock and used a wheeled cart to load up $3,000 worth of equipment, tools and wire.
$20,000 worth of property taken from rental. At 8:40 a.m. Aug. 24, Castle Rock Police were dispatched to a rental property on the
3900 block of Alcazar Drive, Castle Rock, on a report of a burglary. A 45-year-old leasing agent reported cabinets, sinks, toilets and light fixtures missing from the home. She also reported holes in the dry wall and water damage to the floors.
Two computers taken from school. At 9:06 a.m. Aug. 24, a 51-year-old construction engineer for the Douglas County School District reported two computers missing from his office at Cantril School,
312 N. Cantril St., Castle Rock. The man told Castle Rock Police someone broke into the school over the weekend by cutting a screen, vandalizing his office and taking two laptop computers.
Truck burglarized in parking lot. A 56-year-old man reported a toolbox missing from his truck parked in the parking lot at Napa Auto,
1133 Caprice Drive, Castle Rock. The man told Castle Rock Police someone stole his toolbox and tools, valued at $200, while he was inside shopping.
Garage broken into. At 10:05 a.m. Aug. 23, a 48-year-old woman reported her garage burglarized at her home on the
1300 block of Ballata Court, Castle Rock. The woman told Castle Rock Police she was out of town and had left her garage open by 6 inches. When she returned, she said the garage was raised to a foot, and several power tools were missing. A digital camera worth $1,600 was missing from a car in the garage.
Church vandalism. At 9:30 p.m. Sept. 1, a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office responded to Horizon Community Church,
2121 Dad Clark Drive, Highlands Ranch, on a report of a vandalism. An employee with the church told deputies between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30, someone broke a window by hitting golf balls.
