Student found with drug paraphernalia. At 11:47 a.m. Sept. 15, officers with Castle Rock Police were dispatched to Castle Rock Middle School,
2575 Meadows Parkway, Castle Rock on a report of a student with a homemade smoking pipe made from a pen. A residue believed to be marijuana was in the pen shaft. He was issued a summons.
Man attempts to take a basket of groceries. At 2 p.m. Sept. 14, Castle Rock police responded to an attempted theft at King Soopers,
750 Ridge Road, Castle Rock. A 46-year-old man was seen by store security filling his cart and then pushing the cart through the front entrance without paying for the items. Items in the cart totaled $417.
$140 sunglasses taken. At 3:58 p.m. Sept. 13, Castle Rock Police responded to a theft at Sunglass Hut,
5050 Factory Shops Blvd., Castle Rock. Officers spoke with the store's 23-year-old manager, who told them two men entered the store, and as one purchased a pair of Oakley sunglasses, the other concealed a pair in his pants pocket.
Vending machine theft. At 4:29 p.m. Sept. 12, officers with the Castle Rock Police Department responded to a theft and vandalism to a toy vending machine at Walmart,
4400 Front St., Castle Rock. A Boy Scout in the store's game room reported to Walmart security that five teenagers were pounding and cursing at a toy vending machine. Officers observed the machine's cash doors open.
License plate taken from boat trailer. At 11:25 a.m. Sept. 11, a 52-year-old man reported to the Castle Rock Police his license plate missing from a boat trailer parked at Chatfield Reservoir,
11500 N. Roxborough Park Road, Littleton. The man said he didn't know exactly when the plate was taken, but last noticed it Aug. 29.
