If Downtown voters approve the formation of the Downtown Development Authority in the upcoming November special election, the DDA Board of Directors will need to get right to work. So that can happen, the Town now is accepting applications for those wishing to serve on the DDA board. Completed Board applications must be returned by Oct. 15.
Town Council has approved a seven-member board, six of which must own property, reside in, or lease business space within the DDA boundaries. One member will represent Town Council. Town Council announced its intention to appoint Councilman Chip Wilson to this position.
The Board of Directors will be responsible for stimulating improvements in Downtown Castle Rock and for managing revenues received from tax increment and other sources.
All Board applicants and anyone considering should attend the candidate orientation, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13, 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St.
Prospective Board candidates will be interviewed beginning the week of Oct. 27. Town Councilman Ryan Reilly will represent Town Council on the interview panel. In addition to Reilly, the interview will comprise Downtown stakeholders and are as follows:
If the DDA is approved, Town Council is expected to appoint the Board members Nov. 18.

www.CRgov.com and clicking on Downtown Castle Rock Information in the left side menu. Those downloading the application must pick up the supporting materials in the Town Clerk's Office at Town Hall.
