With one week left for making eligible purchases, consumers Wednesday had earned $50,000 in rewards through the Town's Rock Your Dollar program.
Under the program, consumers earn a $50 Castle Rock Cash Card for each $500 in qualifying taxable purchases made at Castle Rock-licensed businesses within the Town's corporate limits during September. Each person age 18 and up is eligible for up to two Cash Cards for spending $1,000 or more on eligible items.
Examples of ineligible items include groceries, gasoline, alcohol, tobacco, prescriptions and nontaxable services. A more comprehensive list of what does and doesn't qualify is available on the Rock Your Dollar section at CRgov.com or at the redemption booths listed below.
The redemption booths originally were set to close Sept. 30. However, to ensure those who shop or dine in Castle Rock on Sept. 30 have the chance to earn their rewards, it was decided this week that the redemption booth at Town Hall will remain open Oct. 1 and 2. The end of the eligible purchase period remains Sept. 30.
Hours for the booth at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St., are 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. A second booth at The Courtyard at Castle Rock, 333 Perry St., Suite A, will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.
Individuals redeeming receipts for a Cash Card must be present at the booth and must show a government-issued ID.
Town Council on Tuesday extended the cap on the rewards from $100,000 to $110,000 to ensure enough Cash Cards would be available to last through the redemption period.
The cards can be used anywhere in Castle Rock's corporate limits where major credit cards are accepted, including on items such as groceries and alcohol and on nontaxable services. The Town cannot guarantee businesses will honor the cards and will not replace lost or stolen cards.
The cards expire Oct. 31.
