Wind energy, wind development, carbon financial credits and home energy windbreaks are the topics of discussion and exploration at the Saturday, November 14 Alternative Energy Conference, from 9:00 - Noon at the Douglas County Events Center, in Castle Rock. Registration deadline is Monday, November 9, 2009.
Featured speakers are Mike Kostrzewa from Colorado State University in Fort Collins on the topic of wind energy and wind turbines; Colorado Department of Agriculture Commissioner, John Stulp, presenting on wind development - large or small for farmers and ranchers; and Dan Pauley, CSU Extension in Jefferson County, who will address the audience regarding the financial benefits of carbon credits.
The Douglas County Soil Conservation District will have a home energy windbreak display at the Conference.
Cost for the program is $20 per person. Registration - including a continental breakfast - on the day of the event begins at 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m. Lunch, provided at noon, will conclude the program.
