Castle Rock Police: A great steal of a sale


A great steal of a sale. At 6 p.m. Oct. 9, a 39-year-old man reported to the Castle Rock Police that a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser he had parked with a for sale sign in the window at Safeway, 880 S. Perry St., Castle Rock, had been stolen. The man had been out of town for a few days, and when he returned to check on the vehicle, he discovered it was missing. Safeway employees said they did not tow the vehicle.

Convenience store worker takes lotto tickets. At 11 p.m. Oct. 8, Castle Rock Police officers were dispatched to Circle K, 23 Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock, on a report of an employee theft. The manager for Circle K told officers a 26-year-old employee took $200 in Colorado Lottery scratch tickets and issued $85 worth of payouts. The woman admitted to taking the tickets in hopes to pay rent. She was arrested.

Woman uses baby in shoplifting. At 2:38 p.m. Oct. 8, Castle Rock Police officers were dispatched to Kohl's, 4800 Milestone Lane, Castle Rock, on a report of a shoplifting. A 30-year-old woman was spotted on store surveillance concealing several items of clothing under her baby in the stroller. The items recovered totaled $186. The woman had $100 in her purse. The woman was arrested.

A nano theft. At 5 p.m. Oct. 9, Castle Rock Police officers responded to a theft at the Castle Rock Recreation Center, 2301 Woodlands Blvd., Castle Rock. Two girls reported a cell phone and two iPod Nanos <EL-1>missing from their locker. The locker was closed, but left unlocked.
