Douglas Lehnen is running unopposed for Castle Rock Town Council in District 6. YourHub.com asked him to respond to a questionnaire about his interests and local issues.

My name: Douglas Lehnen

My age: 55

My family: Karen (wife) - Amber and Rachel (daughters)

Education: Graduated from Montana State University (1974) B.S. Electrical Engineering and MBA from Golden Gate University (1980) in San Francisco in Management with minor in Marketing

What I do: I retired from Lockheed Martin in October of 2007 after 30 years with the company. I worked in the classified environment most of my career, but did support Homeland Security for 3 years.

My favorite place in town to hang out: Pegasus and Crowfoot Coffee

What I like most about living here: We love the downtown area along with the events in town (Star Lighting, Fair Parade, Art Fest and Fireworks)

My interests and hobbies: Golf, gardening, home improvements

My favorite thing to cook: I make a mean turkey and love to cook pork baby back ribs on grill

People who inspired me (and how): My father who gave me the values I have. Mr. Smaltz who taught me baseball and fortitude to practice to achieve perfection and Mr. Chase who gave me great advice while working at Martin.

How I have contributed to the community: I coached both daughters in softball and basketball, I am vice chairman for Rocky Mountain Rail Authority, represent the town on DRCOG, and have been a member of the Partnership of Douglas County. I have supported the town for almost ten years (Utilities/Planning commissions and Town Council)

The biggest issues facing Castle Rock now: Water for the future growth of Castle Rock

Why I am running: I still have things to complete in support of the citizens in town and I enjoy public service.
