Stand Up And Be Counted

On Thursday, March 26 at 4:30 p.m. on my weekly webcast , we talked about thoughtful, intelligent and rational Americans who are mad as hell at the power and money seekers among us, and those human leeches among us who always have their hands out for our tax dollars.

The leeches say that they're real Americans, but they're not. They are the destroyers of our freedoms and liberties.

Real Americans say what they mean and mean what they say. That is, they always stand up to be counted, no matter what.

You can listen to the above-mentioned webcast (and past webcasts) by going to www.blogtalkradio.com/homeowners_associations. While listening to a 'live' webcast, you are welcome to call in if you feel moved to do so. The webcast call-in number is: (646) 716-4339 .

Are there any readers here who listen to Glenn Beck on the radio or television? He's a talk show host who is like no other that you've ever listened to. That is, he talks like every other freedom-and-liberty-loving person in these United States who would, if they had to, fight and die for what they believe in and hold dear, i.e., their families, their homes, our Declaration of Independence, our United States Constitution, and everything else our American flag has always stood for.

Glenn Beck does not talk like those among us who call themselves "real" Americans, but who really have other, more personal, self-serving agendas; agendas which are often carefully hidden from the public 'eye'.

Exactly what do I mean when I refer to "real" Americans? I believe a real American has the following characteristics and behaviors:

**Real Americans protect their own and others' freedoms and liberties in their communities, their states, and their country.

**Real Americans work hard to build and maintain a civilized American society under a Constitution their Founding Fathers gave them.

**Real Americans protect, provide for, and nurture their families.

**Real Americans are a strong, proud, and independent people.

** Real Americans also stand up to be counted.

What does the popular phrase "Stand up to be counted" mean? One of the most important things it means is to have the courage of your convictions -- and act on them, if you must. That is, real Americans stand up for what is right and what is in accordance with fact, reason and truth, as well as what is just and moral. They stand up for the values and principles that real Americans have always stood for -- no matter who disagrees with them.

Some may say that it is too difficult to stand up to be counted when they know that many other people will disagree with them. Others may say that they are afraid that if they stand up to be counted by letting others know their opinions, it might cause trouble for them in some disagreeable or violent way. And still others are simply too lazy or self-centered to actively support someone else or some societally important cause.

Glenn Beck talks like he's a man who stands up to be counted. And he certainly appears to be a real American, as well as someone who possesses the important human characteristics of honesty and integrity. If he lives the way he talks, he could be the leader that all real Americans have been hoping to find for a very long time.

On the other hand, Glenn Beck appears to believe that We The Intgelligent and Rational People know how to lead themselves. I tend to agree with Glenn on that score. For example, I believe that societal "change" in our country will begin to happen right in our own communities and local areas by those of us who live in them -- NOT as a result of some kind of government law, policy, or improper 'intervention'. Then, I believe, as more and more REAL Americans take on that very hard task of societal "change," more and more American communities and local areas will eventually return to their Constitutional roots. And those roots are embodied in a Constitutional Federal Republic (which most Americans have always just called a "democracy").

So, what can we do in our own communities to bring about a societal "change" away from our headlong rush into socialism? Well, first we probably need to stop and take a long, hard look around us. If we do that, we will probably be flabbergasted by some of the things we see and hear. But pick one of the things that doesn't seem to you to be in keeping with what our Founding Fathers had in mind for us, and then start to plan how you might be able to turn around what's going on in your communities that don't seem to 'fit' with the notion of a free people.

Stop and look around. Then do something about the power and money seeking 'bad guys' you see and hear doing their 'bad guy' thing which will eventually destroy our freedoms and liberties, change our form of government, and make radical changes in our American society.

Stop and take a long, hard look around you. That's what I did about 10 years ago. I got sick and tired of just moaning and groaning about the bad direction our country was taking. I was also sick and tired of listening to others moan and groan about it. So, I started noticing what was happening in my own community (which happens to be a homeowners association). What I saw and heard from some who live in my community was very, very disturbing. That is, they appeared to be what any sensible person would probably call a "cabal" of "little wannabe dictators."

My community is a small rural one. That is, it is not near a big city. It does however, have a couple of large towns (or small cities) within about a half hour's drive where we can shop for groceries and other needed items without having to drive over an hour to get to a "big city" to shop.

Over the years that I've lived in my community, I believe I've noticed steadily increasing power-and-money-seeking activity among the various (what appear to me to be) dictatorisal HOA 'leaders' in our various boards of directors. Then, a few years ago, a very wealthy member of our HOA community began to, or so it seemed to me, take on the roll of the head honcho dictator in our community. Since then, it appears to me that our community has taken a decided turn toward socialism. Can fascism be far behind?

Can't happen to your community? The above is happening in many, if not most, HOAs/communities all over our country. Isn't it time for all REAL Americans to stand up to be counted?
