A July celebration for the monthly meeting of the Castle Rock Red Hat Society was held on the Cantril House patio.
The tables of the patio were covered with red- and white-checkered cloths, napkins in the same theme and purple and red flowers as centerpieces. Guests from Victorian House and Valley House were in attendance. The menu was KFC chicken, potato salad, watermelon and delicious chocolate cake.
The new executive director for the three assisted living facilities,
Barbara Dice, introduced herself and gave a brief resume of her personal life. She made some suggestions for promoting Red Hats, such as a monthly calendar with pictures of some of the members and a contest to select a name for our society.
Evelyn, activities director for the three assisted living facilities, has reached a milestone in her life: Her 50th birthday. This makes her eligible to become a Red Hat member. The oath she had to take was wordy and long and almost brought tears to our eyes. It couldn't have been more boring if she had been running for a political office.
The next society meeting will be held at the Valley House. We offer our sincere thanks to all of the people who make it possible to be transported to these enjoyable affairs.
