My daughters and I, returning from our girls' trip to Grand Junction, encountered a huge fireball on the eastbound shoulder of I-70 one mile west of Georgetown at around 2:30 in the afternoon, Sunday, July 23).
We caught this on picture and video. Too bad YourHub.com can't take a video! When we finally zoomed in with the video camera, we could see that the fireball was a semi truck that had apparently crashed.
We saw fire tornados coming out of the back of the truck. We couldn't see any other vehicle but were there when the fire trucks came through all the heavy weekend traffic apparently stopped by the heavy black smoke.
When we finally began moving, a truck hauling stacks of dry hay passed us and we could only wonder what would happen if those flying, flaming embers were to land there.
We quickly passed up that hay truck and were glad to get home safely.

Very good. Glad the hay didn't catch on fire.

Julie, I too wish we had video. We are working on it! Great photos!
